Chelsea in transfer tussle to sign Vinicius Junior

Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea are considering breaking the bank to sign Real Madrid mainstay Vinicius Junior.

According to a report from TBR, Chelsea are huge admirers of Real Madrid superstar Vinicius Junior, and they are considering making a move to bring the Brazilian to Stamford Bridge.

Vinicius arrived at Santiago Bernabeu as a teenager back in 2018. The initial seasons didn’t really go according to plan for him, but he has worked his way out. The 24-year-old has not only established himself as a key figure in the team, but he is also widely recognised as one of the best footballers on the planet.

The Brazilian international last signed a contract with Los Blancos back in 2023. His current deal runs out in the summer of 2027, and the team in white are already in talks to extend his stay at the club.

Vinicius seeks pay parity with the club’s highest-paid player, Mbappe, who is earning around £500,000-a-week since arriving from PSG on a free transfer last summer. Real Madrid don’t really have any problems meeting his demands, given his performances.

While both parties are confident that a deal is close, there are other interested parties who want to lure him away from the Bernabeu. There is a significant amount of interest in him from the Middle East. Saudi Pro League clubs are reportedly ready to do whatever it takes to land him.

Chelsea are plotting a raid on Real Madrid

Meanwhile, the report suggests that Real Madrid would consider sitting on the negotiating table if an offer worth around £200 million arrives. Apart from the Saudi Arabian club, Chelsea are also keen on his signature.

The Blues are massive admirers of the 24-year-old winger. They would love to make the face of their new project. They are very much interested in pushing for his signature if they sense there is a possibility of him leaving Real Madrid.

There is interest in based on the fact that a move to London appeals to the Brazilian. While he could consider a move to the Premier League, it will be interesting to see if he wants to leave the biggest club in the world at this stage in his career.

PSG restrictions won’t really trouble Chelsea, as a result, there is a realistic chance of them making a move. But Vinicius’ stance might be the deciding factor in this transfer saga.
