Manchester City will have to pay a high asking price for Eduardo Camavinga should they make a move for the French midfielder.
According to Football Insider, Eduardo Camavinga won’t come cheap for Manchester City should they decide to make a move for the French midfielder. Real Madrid will not let go of the midfielder for a lower fee, with the report stating it might take at least £70 million to even make them consider a sale.
Manchester City have had a season to forget, as they are currently fighting to stay relevant in a top-four/five race in the Premier League. It would come as a surprise if they can mount a considerable challenge for one of the Champions League spots, as they continued to drop points with the latest draw at home against Brighton showing plenty of weaknesses in the squad.
Pep Guardiola is expected to make considerable changes to his squad during the summer, with special emphasis placed on the midfield. The loss of Rodri at the start of the campaign has seen their midfield fall apart during different parts of the season, with the likes of Ilkay Gundogan expected to leave in the summer.
Bernardo Silva and Kevin De Bruyne’s time at the club could also end, while there are considerable doubts about Mateo Kovacic’s displays too. Nico Gonzalez arrived in January and seems like a decent player, but he may not be a solution to start games every week alongside Rodri.
Guardiola has wanted a top-level midfielder for two years now to play alongside Rodri, as they failed in their pursuit of Declan Rice before he joined Arsenal. Manchester City are keen on Eduardo Camavinga ahead of the summer, although there are complications in signing the 22-year-old Real Madrid star.
Real Madrid will demand a big fee for Eduardo Camavinga
Real Madrid are not keen on selling Camavinga to begin with, and should they consider the idea of a departure, the Spanish giants will demand a hefty fee. The report states Camavinga will cost at least £70 million in the summer should Manchester City consider approaching.
The big issue for Manchester City may not be the finances, but the desire of the player to leave the Santiago Bernabeu for the Etihad. The x22-year-old Real Madrid star seems very happy at Real Madrid and continues to hold an important place there. While Manchester City could make a considerable offer, the chances of landing the French midfielder are somewhat difficult.
