Tottenham Hotspur will reportedly look to sign 19-year-old Swedish youth international Roony Bardghji from FC Copenhagen in the summer transfer window.
According to a report by Give Me Sport, Roony Bardghji is the subject of interest from Tottenham Hotspur. The Lilywhites are scouring the market for a wide attacker heading into the summer transfer window and have set their sights on the FC Copenhagen whizkid. Meanwhile, the Swedish youth international is also a target for Manchester City.
Roony Bardghji and his story so far
Roony Bardghji has established himself as one of the best young attacking prospects in the world since breaking into the first-team squad at FC Copenhagen. A native of Kuwait City, the teenage sensation was eligible to represent Syria and Sweden in international football and has picked the latter as his national side.
The 19-year-old spent most of his formative years in Sweden but graduated from the youth division at FC Copenhagen. Bardghji made his first-team bow for FC Copenhagen as a 16-year-old in November 2021 and has come leaps and bounds since then. However, the youngster has been missing in the last 12 months due to a long-term knee injury.
Bardghji has turned out 78 times thus far for FC Copenhagen while chipping in with 15 goals and one assist. Meanwhile, the Swedish youth international has piqued the attention of several high-profile clubs across Europe with his exploits for the Danish club. Premier League bigwigs, in particular, are keen on signing the highly-rated winger, with Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur among the prospective suitors vying for his signature this summer.
Premier League move on the horizon?
Manchester City’s interest in Roony Bardghji is understandable. Jack Grealish faces an uncertain future, while Jeremy Doku has not been productive enough during his spell with the Premier League champions. So, the FC Copenhagen whizkid has emerged as a viable target for Manchester City.
As for Tottenham Hotspur, the North London giants have focused on creating a core of highly-rated prospects who can serve them for over a decade. So, Lucas Bergvall, Archie Gray, and Luka Vuskovic have already joined Tottenham, with Bardghji being an option worth considering.
Meanwhile, the Swedish youth international will not cost a bomb, with FC Copenhagen likely to part ways with him for less than £10 million. It will be interesting to see what the future has in store for the 19-year-old amid his links with Tottenham and Manchester City.
