Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea keen on Kaoru Mitoma

Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea are among those keen to explore a move for Kaoru Mitoma, with the transfer a tricky prospect.

According to Caught Offside, a host of Premier League giants are interested in Brighton star Kaoru Mitoma ahead of the summer. The Japanese winger has shone with the Seagulls, with the winger reportedly valued at €55 million ahead of the close season.

Kaoru Mitoma has been one of the best-performing stars at Brighton over the last few years, and this season he has taken on the mantle of being one of their most important stars. Fabian Hurzeler has placed his trust in the Japanese winger to the fullest and did not want the club to even think about selling him.

Brighton did reject two bids from Saudi Arabia for the Japanese star, which reiterated their stance of keeping him for the immediate term. The Seagulls are eager to finish in European places, although, at the end of the season, there might be a time when some of the top clubs will come knocking on their doors for the top performer.

Manchester United are interested in Mitoma as Ruben Amorim seeks fresh reinforcements during the summer. There are big doubts over the futures of Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho, with the sale of either star likely to prove enough to make a bid for the Japanese star.

Chelsea are also keen, with the Blues constantly looking for top talents that would improve their squad and elevate their levels into challengers. Mitoma certainly fits the bill, although he might be a bit older for their liking, however, he’s also the sort of player Chelsea need in their team.

Signing Mitoma would prove tricky for Premier League giants

Liverpool are also thought to be in the mix for Mitoma, with Arne Slot setting sights on several key forward signings in the summer. Mitoma would be a good addition to the left side of the attack, as there are doubts over Luis Diaz’s future at the club.

While the reported suitors are big clubs, to begin with, and Brighton reportedly demanding 55 million for the winger, the idea of them selling might be out of order. The €55 million-rated Premier League winger holds an important position under Hurzeler, and leaving the club might prove tricky for him. Moreover, Brighton will not stop short of the reported asking price, as they will demand much more.
