Manchester United are keen on Real Madrid duo Andriy Lunin and Aurelien Tchouameni to improve key areas of their current squad.
According to Fichajes, Manchester United are keen on Real Madrid stars Aurelien Tchouameni and Andriy Lunin. The latter is seen as a potential competition for Andre Onana, while the Frenchman could be the marquee midfield arrival Ruben Amorim so desperately needs.
Manchester United are expected to make some important signings in the summer that would potentially mark the beginning of the project under Ruben Amorim. There are many areas of the squad that the Portuguese manager wants changes in although one window might be a short period to make a whole lot of changes.
One of the key areas of their squad is the goalkeeping position with Andre Onana occupying the No.1 role with Altay Biyandir languishing as his deputy. There are doubts about the latter, as Amorim wants to bring a new keeper to provide intense competition for Onana, which does hint that the Cameroonian is not viewed as the top man for the role between the sticks.
Manchester United are keen on Andriy Lunin, with the Ukranian expected to evaluate his future in the summer. He was Real Madrid’s Champions League hero last season when he deputised for Thibaut Courtois, although since the Belgian’s return, he has had to resort to a backup role under Carlo Ancelotti.
Hence, there’s a possibility that he might depart in the summer, with Manchester United among a host of clubs keeping constant tabs on his situation. Any move for the keeper will depend on the price tag Real Madrid will demand for their backup player, which could be high given the Ukranian holds massive value in the market due to his performances last season.
Manchester United angling a move for Aurelien Tchouameni
Meanwhile Manchester United are also interested in Aurelien Tchouameni from Real Madrid, with some reports stating the Spanish side might consider offers. The Red Devils will have competition for the French midfielder if he is to be made available, with Real Madrid likely to demand at least €80 million, which is nearly what they paid for him a few years back.
However, Ancelotti considers Tchouameni as a key part of his plans, with the versatile star starting all of his games in La Liga this season. The Frenchman has been a rock in midfield as well as slotting in central defence when the team had shortages of defenders, which does make him a key star and someone Real Madrid may not sell after all.
