Yeremay Hernandez may be available for €35 million this summer amid Chelsea links

Chelsea have received a massive boost in their pursuit of Yeremay Hernandez as he could be available for €35 million this summer.

According to a report from Spanish publication AS, Yeremay Hernandez could end up parting ways with Deportivo La Coruna in the summer as multiple top clubs from across Europe are after his signature. While the Spanish second-division side has done well to retain him, keeping him much longer might prove challenging.

Hernandez joined their youth setup back in 2017. The Spaniard went up the ranks at some pace and got promoted to their first team in the summer of 2022, and he has only gone from strength to strength since. The 22-year-old left-winger has slowly established himself as a key figure in the team.

He seems to have taken his game to the next level in the ongoing campaign. Hernandez has been the go-to man for them in attack, and he has nine goals and four assists in his 27 league outings. His performances in the second division have put him on the radar of multiple top clubs.

Hernandez’s new release clause

Chelsea, Napoli, and Como are amongst the clubs who have been keen on Yeremay Hernandez, and they were very close to triggering the €20 million release clause in his previous contract mid-season. But Deportivo La Coruna managed to convince their young star to continue at the club, and they ended up offering him a new deal with improved terms.

The new deal includes a release clause worth €35 million. While the fee has gone up significantly, it does not guarantee his stay at the club. There are clubs who can prise him away, and since clubs tend to have a much bigger pursuit in the summer, there are high chances of the Spanish attacking prospect being on the move ahead of next season.

Chelsea could make a move for Yeremay Hernandez

Chelsea are believed to be the biggest threat as they have massive financial strength, and Hernandez seems to be an ideal fit for their project, which revolves around signing the best young stars. They want more depth on the flanks, and he could be a great addition in the long run.

While the youngster prefers playing out wide on the left, the 22-year-old can even feature as a number ten or on the right flank when needed. The Blues have been keeping a close eye on the youngster, and it will be interesting to see if they do make a concrete move to bring him to Stamford Bridge.
