Nottingham Forest trying to beat Tottenham to Davide Frattesi with swap offer

Nottingham Forest are looking to outmanoeuvre Tottenham in the race for Inter Milan midfielder Davide Frattesi.

According to a report from InterLive, Nottingham Forest could look to win the race for the services of Davide Frattesi with a swap offer. The Tricky Trees could offer Nicolas Dominguez plus cash as they look to beat Tottenham to the Inter Milan star’s signature.

Frattesi’s move to Inter from Sassuolo became permanent last summer. While he had a decent role last season, the 25-year-old expected a more prominent role this time. But things haven’t really gone according to plan for him.

While he has been involved in 33 matches, Frattesi has been more of a super sub, and lately, there have been games where he hasn’t even taken the field. He has done well in his preferred central midfield role as well as a touch higher up, but the Italian international is not pleased with the limited game time.

He was linked with a move away from the club during the winter window. AS Roma were ready to sign him, but Inter’s valuation of around €40 million had put them off. While they remain keen on his signature, the real threat now comes from the Premier League, where multiple clubs would love to add him to their ranks.

If things don’t improve in the final phase of the season, Frattesi will push for a move away, and he could end up moving to England, where Nottingham Forest and Tottenham are both interested in signing him.

Nottingham to battle with Tottenham

The North London club don’t have enough depth in their midfield, and they feel the 25-year-old could be a great addition to their ranks. While Ange Postecoglou’s team are pushing for his signature, Nottingham could provide significant competition.

The Tricky Trees are pushing for a European spot, and if they do make it, they will be in the market to add a lot of quality to their squad. Frattesi is a player they really admire, and they are willing to make a move for him.

To gain an edge over Spurs in the race for his signature, they are prepared to include Nicolás Domínguez as part of the deal. Simone Inzaghi might be open to a swap deal as the 26-year-old has experience playing in the Italian top flight. He will hardly take any time to adjust to life at Inter.

However, since he is only valued at around €15 million, Nottingham will have to offer a fee of around €20 million to get a deal over the line. Inter might be looking for €40 million, but if things continue in a similar fashion, they might end up accepting something around €35 million.
