Manchester United competing with Arsenal and Tottenham for Yusuf Akcicek

Manchester United, Arsenal and Tottenham will have to battle it out to sign Fenerbahce defensive sensation Yusuf Akcicek.

According to a report from CaughtOffside, Manchester United, Arsenal, and Tottenham are all keen on signing Yusuf Akcicek, who has had a sensational rise at Fenerbahce. His impressive performances have put him on the radar of all three English clubs who could end up battling it out for his signature in the summer.

Akcicek has been a part of the Fenerbahce youth setup since the summer of 2019. He has gone up the ranks at some pace and finally got promoted to their first team ahead of the ongoing campaign.

He made his senior debut for them towards the end of 2023 and has so far featured in a total of 19 games. The teenager has even contributed towards three goals. While he prefers playing as a central defender, Akcicek has featured on the flanks as well as a defensive midfielder when needed.

The 19-year-old might have only played a handful of games, but he has certainly made quite a name for himself, which is why some of the biggest clubs in England have him on their wishlist. The Turkiye youth international is considered to be a huge prospect, and Manchester United, Arsenal and Tottenham are all keen on signing him.

Premier League giants to battle for Akcicek

All three Premier League outfits are ready to battle for his signature. The Red Devils have a concrete interest in him, and they have been scouting him for some time as they look to reinforce their backline. They have received a lot of positive reports about the teenager and would love to add him to their squad.

The Manchester-based club is gradually shifting towards a model focused on investing in young talents with high potential rather than splashing huge sums on established stars, a strategy that has failed them in recent years.

They consider Akcicek as a great fit for them and are gearing up to make a move for the Turkish defender, who could be available for just €20 million.

Meanwhile, the Red Devils could face competition from Arsenal and Tottenham, who also admire the Fenerbahce defensive sensation. Both North London clubs want to add more depth to their defence, and they consider the 19-year-old a great investment for the long run.
