Liverpool make approach for Kingsley Coman

Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing the 28-year-old Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman in the summer transfer window.

According to an update by reputed German journalist Florian Plettenberg, Liverpool have submitted an enquiry for Kingsley Coman. Bayern Munich value the French international at around €30-40 million, and it will be interesting to see if they can get the deal done.

Coman earns €17-18 million per year at the German club, and he has been a serial trophy winner throughout his club career. The Frenchman has the experience of playing for big clubs, and he knows what it takes to fight for major trophies regularly.

Liverpool could certainly use more quality and depth in the wide areas, and Kingsley Coman would be a useful acquisition. Even though Coman has not been at his best this season, he has shown his quality at top clubs in the past.

He could be a very useful squad player for Liverpool. Luis Diaz has been linked with a move away from the club, and Mohamed Salah will be a free agent in the summer if the Reds do not tie him to a new contract. Federico Chiesa has not been able to establish himself as an important player for the club either.

Liverpool might need to sign multiple wingers in the summer transfer window, and the French international would be a quality addition. However, the Merseyside outfit will face stiff competition from other Premier League bigwigs for his signature.

Bayern Munich unlikely to force Coman to stay

Bayern Munich could be open to selling the French international in the summer transfer window. He is not a key player for the Bavarian giants anymore, and they will look recoup some money from his departure and invest into the playing squad. It remains to be seen where the Liverpool can negotiate a reasonable deal for him.

However, the Frenchman might have to take a pay cut in order to seal the move to Liverpool. The Reds are unlikely to break their wage structure and pay him €17-18 million per year. Coman is versatile enough to operate on both flanks, and he will add creativity and goals to the side. The 28-year-old has the technical attributes to succeed in the Premier League, and he could be a useful squad player for Liverpool if they can get the deal done.
