Tottenham Hotspur are eyeing a move to sign Nico Paz next summer as Ange Postecoglou eyes a young signing in an area of concern.
According to TBR, Tottenham Hotspur emerged in the race for Nico Paz as Ange Postecoglou is keen to add a young attacking midfielder to his ranks. The Spaniard has been in impressive form for Serie A minnows Como, while the attacking midfielder reportedly seeks a return to Real Madrid.
Nico Paz has deeply impressed many of his observers this season, as some of the interested clubs are watching him closely in Serie A. The Spaniard joined the Italian minnows managed by former Spanish midfield great Cesc Fabregas, as the ex-Arsenal and Chelsea man has used the young midfielder wisely.
Nico Paz has six goals and five assists in 24 Serie A games for Como, which is a considerably good return for an attacking midfielder. Manchester City are formulating an offer to sign Nico Paz, and while Como would like to keep him for longer, they are aware of the growing interest. The likes of Arsenal and Chelsea have been keeping tabs for months now.
Arsenal are considering a summer move, while Real Madrid are monitoring his situation. The latter has some favourable clauses, probably even a buy-back clause that could see them re-sign the midfielder, who yearns for a return to the Santiago Bernabeu. However, should he arrive back at the club, the chances of him nailing down a starting place seem remote due to other young stars like Brahim Diaz and Arda Guler.
Hence, the highly rated Serie A midfielder might consider offers from elsewhere, with a view to taking an important position, albeit in the squad. Tottenham are the latest to emerge in the race for Nico Paz, as Ange Postecoglou is keen to add another top young talent to the first team mix and keep improving his project in north London.
Tottenham are interested in Nico Paz
One other reason for Tottenham to chase Paz would be the idea of adding another attacking midfielder to the mix, as James Maddison has not proved his worth so far. The main reason for the English midfielder’s lack of output has been his consistent unavailability, which has caused Spurs to lose form and momentum.
While Postcoglou has done well in adding some exciting young talents to the squad, like Lucas Bergwall and Archie Gray, the arrival of Nico Paz would complement that setup. Spurs will face challenges ahead in their pursuit of the highly-rated Serie A midfielder, who will have more suitors making their interest known ahead of the summer.
