Liverpool are stepping up efforts to sign Sverre Nypan and hope to beat Arsenal for the Rosenborg attacking midfielder.
According to Fichajes, Sverre Nypan is considered a key target for Liverpool in the summer window. Arne Slot is hopeful of adding the Norwegian attacking midfielder to his ranks, as the Merseysiders are eager to beat Arsenal for the signature of the teenager.
Sverre Nypan was a big topic of discussion during the summer when the attacking midfielder was evaluating his options as he seemed destined to leave Rosenborg. The 18-year-old midfielder was of interest to a lot of Premier League sides, although he had stated earlier that Manchester United might have been his dream club.
The Red Devils were not in the race for the attacking midfielder, which did open the door for Arsenal and others to make a move. Nypan was reportedly open to joining the Gunners, although he was also meeting with other clubs, including Manchester City, with a view of joining another City Football Group club, Girona.
Nypan eventually decided to stay with Rosenbog and push any move to the summer, which might have harmed the chances of some of the frontrunners like Arsenal. There were reports that Nypan was relieved to have not joined the Gunners for some reason, although it might be rumoured that the chase is expected to intensify and the north Londoners very much expected to be a part of the contenders.
Liverpool are eager to beat Arsenal for Nypan and willing to step up their chase of the Norwegian midfield talent. Many other clubs are also expected to make their presence felt, although the Merseysiders will be looking to tie up a move as early as possible.
Arne Slot wants Sverre Nypan
Arne Slot is set to embark on an important summer window as he could finally get his chance to bring the players that suit his style. Nypan could be one of the additions he might view as important for the future, although he’s unlikely to be seen as a sure starter if he were to arrive.
An attacking midfielder will be a player Arne Slot would want in his side as he looks to refresh his squad in some positions with a few additions. The 18-year-old midfield target will reportedly cost €12 million, as per the report, which would not prove difficult for Liverpool, although the competition from Arsenal will be an issue.
