Tottenham and West Ham United keen on Federico Gatti

Tottenham are ready to battle it out with West Ham United for the signature of Juventus defender Federico Gatti.

According to a report from TVPlay, Tottenham and West Ham United are both interested in the services of Federico Gatti. Both London clubs could look to battle it out for the signature of the Juventus defensive star who has been putting in impressive performances in the ongoing campaign.

After making a name for himself in the Italian top flight with Frosinone, Gatti ended up joining Juventus at the start of 2022. While it was an initial loan spell, the 26-year-old’s move became permanent in the following summer window.

Gatti has been more of a backup option at the Turin-based club over the years but injuries to Gleison Bremer, Juan Cabal and Pierre Kalulu have given him an extended run in the first team and the 26-year-old has certainly made the most out of it.

The Italian international has featured in a total of 34 matches and he has made quite a name for himself. His performances have put him on the radar of Tottenham as well as West Ham United who are looking to bolster their backline.

Gatti could be heading to the Premier League

While Spurs have some world-class central defenders, they lack much-needed depth at the back something that Ange Postecoglou wants to address on a priority basis. They have a long-standing interest in Gatti and consider him an ideal fit for their system.

The North London club are willing to make a move ahead of next season. They are ready to battle it out with West Ham who have been monitoring his performances since the start of the season. The Hammers want to add more quality to their backline and they feel Gatti could become one of the leaders of their defence.

While he has impressed at Juventus, they could still end up sanctioning his departure in the summer. If they fail to secure Champions League football for next season, the Old Lady will be forced to sell a few of their stars.

Gatti could be one of them as he is not their first-choice centre-back as the likes of Bremer and Lloyd Kelly are ahead of him in the pecking order. West Ham and Tottenham could sign him for a fee of around €20 million.
