Journalist claims Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham are ready to pay a nine-figure fee to sign Jamie Gittens from Borussia Dortmund in the summer.
According to Christian Falk via Sport Bild, Jamie Gittens has suitors from the Premier League who are ready to pay a nine-figure sum to sign the winger. Arsenal, Chelsea, and Tottenham are all ready to make offers of north of €100 million to sign the Borussia Dortmund attacker, as the German side fears losing out on a top-four place. `
Borussia Dortmund are a carefully managed club, for whom, finances are an important part of their business model. The German side have consistently played in the Champions League, that allows them the extra revenue as well as the ability to keep strenghthening their squad each season.
Dortmund are currently 11th in the Bundesliga and in real danger of missing out on next season’s Champions League. In the event of not finishing in the top four, they might lose out on massive revenues, which could lead to enforced player sales, as some of their top assets could be sold, including Jamie Gittens.
Gittens seems like the next big asset at Dortmund, as there’s considerable Premier League interest in the Bundesliga attacking prospect. Tottenham are ready to pay a premium, with Christian Falk insisting they are not alone, as Arsenal and Chelsea are also in the mix to pay a nine-figure sum to sign the English winger.
Falk claimed that Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham could pay north of €100 million to sign the Bundesliga attacking prospect, as Dortmund might open the doors to a sale. The German side are unlikely to make the top four and could end up selling more stars apart from Gittens, with Karem Adeyemi also thought to attract big interest from the Premier League.
Will Jamie Gittens arrive in the Premier League?
Tottenham have already identified Gittens as a top target ahead of next summer, as they could potentially make fundamental changes to their attacking setup. For instance, Son Heung-min could depart after an underwhelming season, although Spurs could face competition from Chelsea and Arsenal, with the former always in the mood to spend big on the right talents that suit their young project.
Chelsea have not backed away from a big deal in the recent past as moves for Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo were done for big money. Meanwhile, Arsenal are looking at a top-rated left-sided option for the attack and have been linked to many names. While they would like the idea of signing Gittens, the price tag may prove prohibitive, considering the Gunners are angling a move for a big striker in the summer.
