Sevilla are eyeing a Bosman deal for former left-back Sergio Reguilon as the Spaniard closes in towards the end of his contract in north London.
According to OB, Sevilla are hopeful of signing Sergio Reguilon in the summer on a free transfer. The Spanish side are having their share of financial issues as they could view the re-signing opf the 28-year-old as a, market opportunity to strenghten their squad for next season.
Sergio Reguilon is set to end a difficult period in his career that came in the form of Tottenham and probably make the move on a free transfer in the summer. The 28-year-old has been out of Ange Postecoglou’s plans, having played a total of 242 minutes this season in all competitions.
He has only played due to the many injuries to Tottenham players, and when Postecoglou decided against using him despite having no recognised left-backs, the 28-year-old’s fate was seemingly sealed. Tottenham had been actively looking to offload the left-back, and last season, he spent half a season on loan with Manchester United but without any success and then at Brentford with the same outcome.
As his contract ends in the summer, there’s no indication of a future in England beyond the current season. He has some interest from Fenerbahce, as well as other Turkish sides, but he may make a return to former side Sevilla.
Tottenham were eager to sell him in January and reportedly pushed him towards Crystal Palace, to recoup some money on their investment, although there was a lack of interest in the market. Now, with the summer approaching, the 28-year-old could have some offers on the table as he will make a big decision on his future.
Sevilla hopeful of signing Sergio Reguilon
Reguilon had an impressive single season on loan with Sevilla when he won the Europa League in that campaign. His bright displays gave the then-parent club Real Madrid a chance to either use him on their first team or sell him when the interest was high, as Tottenham signed him.
Now, Sevilla are eager to bring him back on a Bosman deal, as such a deal would suit them amid their financial struggles in the last few years. A move back to Spain would likely entice the 28-year-old, although he might make a decision based on all the offers he has on the table during the summer.
