Arsenal keen on Manuel Locatelli

Arsenal have reportedly set sights on Manuel Locatelli ahead of next summer as Mikel Arteta wants the long-time target to potentially replace a current star.

According to Juve-Live, Manuel Locatelli is a target for Arsenal around the summer window. The Gunners are set to embark on some important signings along the way, as Mikel Arteta will want some good quality players to replace those who might leave in the close season.

Arsenal’s summer window plans are surrounded by the talk of signing a new striker, which seems necessary to continue on their exciting project. The Gunners failed to bring in a striker despite their many injuries in the attacking department. However, there’s another area of the squad that may need acute addressing when the summer market opens.

While their defence seems locked in, the midfield area is something the club will have to address if Thomas Partey and Jorginho end up leaving at the end of their contracts. The Italian is already earmarked to join Flamengo, while the Ghanaian’s future remains uncertain, and a resolution could be found in the coming months.

Either way, Arsenal are planning to replace both of those experienced midfielders. As per credible sources, the Gunners already have an agreement to sign Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad, while the midfielder has reportedly agreed terms to make his move

Arsenal have an interest in Juventus midfielder Manuel Locatelli, who happens to be a long-time target for Mikel Arteta. There were attempts to sign him when he moved from Sassuolo to Juventus. Now, the Gunners may have an opportunity to rekindle their past interest, as the Bianconeri might be open to a sale.

Manuel Locatelli in Arsenal’s sights

Juventus reporteldy want €25 million to allow Locatelli’s sale, and he’s not the only player from the team that interests Arsenal. They are also keen on striker Dusan Vlahovic, although the links to Locatelli could potentially mean the Italian international is seen as the perfect replacement for his compatriot Jorginho.

At the 25 million asking price, Arsenal might be keen to explore a move for the 27-year-old Serie A midfielder, although they could expect competition from rivals. The Italian international could be a solid acquisition for Arteta, as the Juventus star could be the ideal cog to complete their midfield setup ahead of next season.
