Liverpool and Newcastle United have sent scouts to watch OGC Nice’s Mohamed-Ali Cho in action as the Premier League duo are reportedly interested.
According to Ekrem Konur, Mohamed-Ali Cho is attracting big interest from the Premier League as Liverpool and Newcastle United send scouts to watch him in action. The 21-year-old French attacker has been in a decent vein of form, as the two clubs are potentially looking at wide attackers ahead of the summer.
Mohamed-Ali Cho has been decent at best for OGC Nice, although he has taken up an important starting position in the team. The 21-year-old French attacker has started 15 of the 17 Ligue 1 games he has featured in this season, scoring three goals and as many assists in that period.
The 21-year-old French attacker is probably seen as a top talent for the future, and probably not as a sure starter by the two Premier League clubs showing an interest. Liverpool and Newcastle United are keen on the winger, as they sent scouts to watch the attacker in action in Ligue 1.
There’s no indication that either side are ready to make an approach, as they might still only be looking at the winger’s style and application on the pitch. In short, this has probably been a scouting mission of sorts with no suggestions the OGC Nice winger is a firm target for either team.
In any case, Newcastle United have seen links to some wide attacking names such as Paulo Dybala recently, as well as PSV Eindhoven’s Johan Bakayoko. They decided to part ways with Miguel Almiron in January, which does leave the right wing a bit short of options, as the Magpies are set to target a player in that role when the summer window opens.
Liverpool keen to strengthen their attacking ranks
There have been plenty of reports since last summer linking Liverpool to a wide attacker, with Bryan Mbuemo’s name on top of their list. Newcastle target Bakayoko is also a player under consideration, and now the links to Mohamed-Ali Cho widen their search.
Liverpool’s choice of a right winger will entirely depend on the future of Mohamed Salah. Should the Egyptian decide to call time on his Merseyside career then the club might go for a big name like Mbuemo, or else they will bring someone younger to act as backup to Salah, as Mohamed-Ali Cho suits that role.
