Manchester City retain Rodrygo interest, Manchester United also keen

Manchester City are reportedly keen on signing 24-year-old Real Madrid attacker Rodrygo Goes, a target for Manchester United.

According to a report from Jorge C Picon, Manchester City remain interested in Rodrygo Goes. However, the Premier League champions will face competition from cross-town arrivals, Manchester United for the Real Madrid attacker.

The Brazilian international has done quite well for Real Madrid, and he has 20 goal contributions this season. The player has proven himself at the highest level with the Spanish club, and he has helped them win La Liga titles and UEFA Champions League trophies.

It will be interesting to see if Manchester City can convince him to join the club. They could certainly use more quality and depth in the attacking unit. Rodrygo has proven himself at Real Madrid, and there is no doubt that he has the quality to succeed in the Premier League as well. It remains to be seen how the situation develops.

Manchester City might have to submit a lucrative proposal to get the deal done. Real Madrid will not want to lose him easily. The 24-year-old is a valued member of the first team, and he is quite young. Rodrygo could develop into a world-class player in the coming seasons. Manchester City would need a sensational offer to convince the Spanish outfit to sell the attacker.

Manchester United also interested

Manchester United are keen on him as well. The Red Devils have been quite toothless in the final third this season, and signing the Brazilian will help them improve immensely. He is versatile enough to operate in the centre-forward role as well as on the flanks.

The youngster will add goals and creativity to the side. Both clubs are amongst the biggest clubs in the world, and any player could be tempted to join them. It remains to be seen whether Manchester City and Manchester United can convince the player to join them.

Rodrygo will want to join a comparative team where he can win major trophies regularly. Manchester City might be better placed to secure his services, especially if they secure UEFA Champions League qualification.

The Premier League champions have a formidable squad and a world-class manager in charge. On the other hand, Manchester United are going through a period of rebuilding, and they might not be as appealing to the versatile Real Madrid forward.
