Juventus in pole position to sign Rasmus Hojlund

Thiago Motta’s Juventus are front-runners for the services of Manchester United forward Rasmus Hojlund.

According to a report from JuveLive, Juventus are leading the race for the signature of Rasmus Hojlund. The Danish international could be on the move in the next summer window as Manchester United will look to sell players who are not an important part of Ruben Amorim’s plans.

Hojlund made a name for himself while playing for Atalanta. His impressive performances had put him on the radar of multiple top clubs before he ended up joining the Red Devils in a deal worth £72 million.

While the 22-year-old has massive potential, his move to United hasn’t worked despite a promising debut campaign where he bagged 16 goals. The Danish international did showcase signs of the incredible abilities he had but he hasn’t been able to take things to the next level in his second season at the club.

Hojlund only has seven goals in his 30 outings so far and is not considered an integral part of Amorim’s plans moving ahead. While United were relatively quiet in the recently concluded transfer window, they will be making quite a few moves next summer.

Juventus could sign Hojlund for a cut-price fee

But, before they bring in new stars, the Red Devils will offload players who don’t fit into their long-term plans. They are reportedly ready to sell Hojlund for a cut-price fee and there is interest in his services from Italian giants Juventus.

The Old Lady could be in the market for a new striker as Dusan Vlahovic is expected to be on the move next summer. If the Serbian international ends up leaving the Turin-based club, they could look to reinvest the money raised to sign Hojlund as he is young and has a lot of potential. More importantly, he could fit into Thiago Motta’s system and has the experience of playing in the Serie A.

United could be willing to part ways with the 22-year-old for just £40 million even when they are aware that it would result in a massive financial loss. Apart from Juventus, there are other Italian clubs who are keen on his signature but the Old Lady are believed to be the ones leading the race at this stage.
