Marcus Rashford ready to leave Aston Villa in the summer as Barcelona retain interest

Aston Villa signed Marcus Rashford on loan from Manchester United for the rest of the 2024/25 season in the winter transfer window.

Marcus Rashford completed a loan move to Aston Villa, and he was linked with a move to Barcelona as well. According to a report by TEAMtalk, Barcelona retain their interest in signing the Manchester United outcast. Meanwhile, the player has decided that he would be leaving Aston Villa after the loan deal ends, even as the Villans have a £40 million purchase option to sign him permanently.

The West Midlands club have an option to sign him permanently for £40 million at the end of the season. It remains to be seen whether they can convince him to stay for the long run. The Englishman does not have a future at Manchester United.

Rashford is a quality player who has not been at his best recently. He will be desperate to get back to his best and regain his form and sharpness. If the 27-year-old manages to impress at Aston Villa, in the remaining months of the season, they could be tempted to sign him permanently.

Aston Villa needed more quality and depth in the attack and Rashford could prove to be a quality acquisition. He could form a solid partnership with Ollie Watkins in the final third. The English international is versatile enough to operate anywhere across the front three, and he could be an asset for the club in the long term.

Barcelona need a striker like Marcus Rashford

Barcelona need to bring in attacking reinforcements as well. Signing the 27-year-old could prove to be a wise decision for them. The Englishman has the physicality and technical attributes to do well in La Liga, and he knows what it takes to play for a big club.

The 27-year-old has shown his quality in the Premier League over the years, and there is no doubt that he could be an asset for Barcelona. It will be interesting to see if the Blaugrana come forward with an official offer to sign the player at the end of the season. They are going through financial difficulties, and Manchester United will have to be reasonable with their demands for the move to go through.
