Championship outfit Sunderland are reportedly set to win the race for the services of Liverpool attacking sensation Jayden Danns.
According to a report from Sky Sports, Sunderland are all set to secure the services of Jayden Danns. The Liverpool academy star will be joining the Black Cats on loan until the end of the ongoing campaign.
Danns has been a part of the Merseyside club since the age of eight. The youngster has come up the ranks at some pace. While he has not been promoted to their first team just yet, the 19-year-old already has nine appearances for the senior side.
The Englishman made his debut for Liverpool last season under Jurgen Klopp. While he has been on the pitch for a limited amount of time, Danns already has three goals at the highest level. Arne Slot has involved him in a total of four first-team fixtures so far this season.
While the Dutch manager is well aware of his massive potential, the teenager is unlikely to get regular minutes at the Merseyside club. As a result, the Reds are looking to send him out on his first senior loan.
Sunderland win race for Jayden Danns
Sunderland, who are fighting for automatic promotion to the English top flight, are keen on acquiring the services of the 19-year-old striker. The Black Cats are fourth in the Championship standings, and they feel adding more firepower to their squad could certainly help their cause.
Jayden Danns has showcased great potential at Liverpool, who are also loaning out other prospect, and regular minutes at Sunderland could significantly help his growth as a payer. While Blackburn Rovers and Hull City were also pushing to sign the teenage striker, Sunderland have fought off the competition for his signature.
Danns will pen a new deal before Sunderland move
The Black Cats have an agreement in place to bring him to the Stadium of Light on loan until the end of the season. According to another report from Football Insider, the Liverpool graduate will first pen a new deal before heading to the Championship club.
While the Englishman did sign a new deal last summer, the Reds are looking to reward him for his exceptional growth and at the same time, secure his long-term future with a new deal with improved terms.
