Tottenham establish contact to sign Fikayo Tomori

Tottenham Hotspur have held talks to bring AC Milan defensive star Fikayo Tomori back to the Premier League.

Tottenham have been quite active in the ongoing transfer window as they look to reinforce their squad. While we are closing in on the deadline, Spurs haven’t been able to make any significant signings so far.

In an attempt to bolster their defence, they are looking to bring Fikayo Tomori back to England. According to Gianluigi Longari, Tottenham have established contact with AC Milan to sign the former Chelsea star.

Tomori came up the ranks at the London club. He got promoted to their first team back in 2017. Despite all the potential he had, the 27-year-old never really became an important figure in their team. He was often out on loan.

He joined AC Milan at the start of 2021 on a short loan. The move was made permanent in the following summer window. The English international has certainly enjoyed life at the Italian club. He has featured in over 160 matches for them and has been an important part of their squad over the years.

Tomori can feature in the heart of the defence as well as out wide on the right flank. He remains an important part of Milan’s first team but they are reportedly ready to part ways with him. The Italian giants are expected to be quite active in the final days of the transfer window.

Tottenham pushing for Tomori’s signature

They will be looking to offload a few of their stars and Tomori is one of the names on that list. With Milan ready to negotiate his departure, Tottenham have emerged as a potential destination. The North London club lack depth at the back which has been exposed in the absence of Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven.

As a result, they are looking to add more quality to their backline and consider the former Chelsea star an ideal fit for their system. Initial reports suggested Spurs have explored the possibility of signing Fikayo Tomori through intermediaries.

As of now, the North London club have established contact with Tottenham regarding a potential transfer. While things are a touch complicated, negotiations are on track and Spurs will hope they can get it over the line.
