Napoli abandon their pursuit of Alejandro Garnacho

Napoli have reportedly abandoned their chase of Alejandro Garnacho and could move towards other targets before the window shuts.

According to Area Napoli, Alejandro Garnacho is no longer a target for Napoli ahead of the final days of the transfer window. Antonio Conte’s side has chased the Argentine for the whole month but without any success, as they could move on to other targets in a bid to improve their attacking options.

The Alejandro Granacho saga may well drag into the final hours of the window, but there’s one suitor who has bailed out. Napoli are no longer keen on the Argentine winger despite chasing him for the best part of the month, as they feel he cannot be signed at the moment.

Antonio Conte considered the 20-year-old Manchester United prodigy as his primary target to replace Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who has left Napoli to join PSG. The Italian manager wanted the Argentine to come in, as Napoli even saw a bid rejected by the Red Devils earlier.

Garnacho was reportedly open to the switch, although the interest from Chelsea later in the chase might have changed his mind. It’s still unclear why Manchester United are entertaining offers for the winger, although they are seemingly open to selling for the right price.

As things stand, there are plenty of complications and unclarity in the Garnacho saga, as the winger is expected to stay put despite Chelsea’s interest. Whether the Blues are waiting to offload a player before going again for the winger remains to be seen, although the wider expectations clearly point at Chelsea returning before the transfer deadline on Monday

Alejandro Garnacho to leave Manchester United?

Manchester United have moved into the market to sign Patrick Dorgu, who is seen as a wing-back although equally capable of playing as a winger. Whether that is the reasoning behind being open to selling Garnacho remains to be seen, as they have had different levels of discussions with Chelsea for Garnacho

For now, there are only a few days left in the window, and while the market often is frantic in the final hours of deadline day, nothing seems to be guaranteed when it comes to predicting Garnacho’s immediate future. There’s every chance he stays at Manchester United, but we may have to wait until the transfer window shuts to find out more.
