Manchester United have agreement for Geovany Quenda summer move

Ruben Amorim’s Manchester United are all set to sign Sporting CP attacking sensation Geovany Quenda in the next summer transfer window.

According to A Bola via Sport Witness, Manchester United already have an agreement in place with Sporting CP for the services of Geovany Quenda. The Red Devils did consider signing him in the ongoing transfer window but in the end, they have struck a deal to bring him to Old Trafford next summer.

Quenda has come up the ranks at Sporting CP at some pace. The youngster got promoted to their first team ahead of the ongoing season, and he is already an important figure in the team. The 17-year-old has featured in 34 games and has contributed towards eight goals.

Geovany Quenda’s ability to feature on either flank along with his massive potential have resulted in a significant amount of interest from across Europe. Manchester United are one of the clubs that have been keen on adding him to their squad.

Quenda to reunite with Amorim at Old Trafford

The Red Devils’ interest in Geovany Quenda predates Ruben Amorim’s arrival at Old Trafford. They have been monitoring him for a long while and consider him an ideal fit for their project. Amorim was the one who launched him at Sporting CP, and it looks like he is all set to reunite with him in Manchester.

Amorim’s appointment at Manchester United has only sharpened their desire to bring the teenager to the club. The Red Devils would have loved to have him in their squad for the second half of the season, but that was not really a possibility. As a result, Manchester United will look to strike a deal for next summer and they have managed to do so.

Both clubs have reached an agreement for a transfer ahead of next season as per the report. He will be moving to the Manchester-based club next summer in a deal that will be worth €60 million.

While Sporting CP handed him a new deal last summer in an attempt to secure his long-term future, they did include a €80 million release clause as they were aware of the increasing interest in his services. The Portuguese giants have agreed to a deal below the clause as they are looking for a small initial value with safe add-ons and a percentage on future sales.
