The Hammers have been scouring the market for a striker heading into the winter transfer window and have set their sights on the Ajax attacker. The two parties have sealed an agreement over a long-term contract with £100,000-a-week wages. However, convincing Ajax might be a tall order.

Brian Brobbey has endured a career with considerable peaks and troughs since breaking into the first-team squad at Ajax in his first spell with the Eredivisie giants. That stint saw the Dutchman being with his boyhood club for over a decade before embarking on a short and frustrating time at RB Leipzig.
The 22-year-old has been with Ajax since January 2022, and he has endured a topsy-turvy second coming at the Eredivisie club. Goalscoring has been an issue for Brobbey this season, even though he has contributed to ten goals in 29 appearances across all competitions, finding the back of the net three times and providing seven assists.
Meanwhile, the Dutch striker’s stock in the market remains high, with several well-known clubs across Europe setting their sights on him.
