Tottenham have failed in their attempt to sign Chelsea trio Benoit Badiashile, Axel Disasi, and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall this summer.
Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham have struggled this season, largely due to an ongoing injury crisis at the club. 12 first-team stars are currently out injured and they have been looking at the winter transfer window as an opportunity to bring in reinforcement.
But, things haven’t according to plan for them. According to a report from CaughtOffside, the North London club were unsuccessful in securing the services of Chelsea trio Benoit Badiashile, Axel Disasi and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall on a temporary basis.
While Tottenham showcased a lot of promise during Postecoglou’s first season at the club, they have struggled to get going this time around and if things don’t improve they could end up being involved in the relegation battle. A number of injuries to key stars has caused serious problems for the Australian manager who wants to bring in a few new faces to the club in the ongoing window.
Tottenham fail to sign Chelsea trio
He has asked club chairman Daniel Levy for some help and won’t mind a few potential loan signings. They were looking at Chelsea duo, Benoit Badiashile and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall to add much-needed depth to their defence and midfield.
While they did knock on the Blues’ door to sign the duo on loan, they haven’t succeeded in striking a deal even though neither of them are an important part of Enzo Maresca’s plans and have played less than a 1,000 minutes of first-team football this season.
The North London club were also interested in signing Axel Disasi to add more depth to their backline. With the French defender playing just over 1,200 minutes of first-team football, they were looking to make a move for him.
Spurs saw him as a solution to their defensive problems amidst injuries to Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero. But, with the duo returning soon, they decided against it. Tottenham are currently fully focused on signing a new striker as Dominic Solanke has been sidelined for six weeks.
