Palmeiras keen on Deivid Washington

Brazilian giants Palmeiras are pushing hard to secure the services of Chelsea attacking sensation Deivid Washington.

According to a report from CaughtOffside, Palmeiras are looking to add more firepower to their squad in the ongoing transfer window and they are interested in the services of Deivid Washington. The Brazilian outfit are pushing to sign him on a temporary basis.

Washington came up the ranks at Santos. He got promoted to their first team in the summer of 2023 and a few months later Chelsea managed to strike a deal for his services. Since moving to Stamford Bridge, the Brazilian youth international has been a part of their Under-21 setup and has only made a handful of appearances for the senior side.

The 19-year-old strike hasn’t made a single first-team appearance this season which isn’t really helping his development as a player. Washington is desperate for some regular footballing action at the highest level and he has been linked with a move away from Chelsea of late.

Multiple top clubs have been linked with the teenager who could end up making a return to Brazil. While Chelsea still considers him a key part of their long-term plans and have no intentions of selling him, they are reportedly open to a temporary departure as it will greatly benefit his development as a player.

Washington could return to Brazil

Palmeiras have emerged as a potential destination for the Brazilian forward who can feature in different roles in the final third. They are looking for more quality and depth in attack and have made Washington their priority target.

The Brazilian outfit are ready to offer him an opportunity to play regular football and they are making great efforts to bring him back to his homeland. With his chances of breaking into the Chelsea first-team at this stage very slim, a move away could help his cause.

The 19-year-old was previously linked with a loan move to Chelsea’s sister club RC Strasbourg but it didn’t go through. However, this time around things could end up differently as the Blues have no intentions of standing in their way.
