Arsenal, Aston Villa present projects to Sverre Nypan

Arsenal and Aston Villa have presented projects to Norwegian midfield talent Sverre Nypan, with the City Football Group also in the chase.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal and Aston Villa have presented their respective projects to Norwegian teenage talent Sverre Nypan. The Rosenborg starlet is being chased by a host of clubs as the player himself continues to visit various teams before making a decision, with the City Football Group also in the hunt.

Sverre Nypan is a name that is attracting a lot of attention in the final days of the transfer window. The Norwegian talent has attracted a lot of attention, with at least two known Premier League sides chasing the 18-year-old midfield sensation, who seems destined to leave Rosenborg.

Over the last few days, two noted football journalists, David Ornstein of The Athletic and Fabrizio Romano, have posted conflicting stories. The main point of the conflict has been about the interest from Manchester City, as Romano stated that to be the case, while Ornstein insisted Pep Guardiola’s side are not in the race for the 18-year-old wonderkid.

Nypan was present at the Etihad for Manchester City’s clash against Chelsea on Sunday, which sparked further rumours about the midfielder. Romano, in his latest post, did mention the interest is from Girona, who are part of the City Football Group as Manchester City, as the Spanish side are one of those to have presented their project to the teenage prospect.

However, English clubs Aston Villa and Arsenal are keen to add him to the side. The Premier League duo have reportedly presented their projects to Nypan in a bid to lure him to the side. Sticking with Aston Villa, and there are rumours linking Emilian Buendia with a move away, with the Norwegian teenager probably seen as the ideal replacement for the Argentine.

Arsenal in pole position for Nypan?

While Aston Villa could pose a serious threat in the race for Sverre Nypan alongside the City Football Group, it appears Arsenal have been confident about landing the midfielder. The Gunners do have the presence of Norway national team captain Martin Odegaard, with some suggestions that the club captain could play a key role in luring the 18-year-old midfield sensation.

Aston Villa might have an exciting project and a group of young players for Unai Emery to want to add Nypan into the mix, but the Gunners are the front-runners in the chase as things stand. Hence, there is a superior chance of the North Londoners landing the Norwegian, although the race is still very much on.
