Chelsea table an offer for the services of Borussia Dortmund forward Karim Adeyemi amidst interest from Napoli.
Enzo Maresca has had an exceptional start to life at Chelsea as they are very much in the race for a top-four spot. While the team has done most things right under the Italian manager, he has identified a few areas that need reinforcement.
Despite impressive performances of a few of his forwards, Maresca seeks more quality in the final third. According to a report from AreaNapoli, the Blues are interested in the services of Karim Adeyemi and have already submitted an offer for him.
Adeyemi has gone from strength to strength since joining Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2022. While he missed a significant amount of games in the ongoing campaign, the 23-year-old forward has still had quite an impact with five goals and as many assists in just over 700 minutes of first-team action.
While he prefers playing on the left flank, the German youth international is capable enough to feature anywhere in attack. His impressive performances have put him on the radar of multiple clubs.
Napoli eyeing a move for Adeyemi
Napoli are one of the clubs that are keen on signing him. Following the departure of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia to PSG, the Naples-based club are in desperate need of signing a new winger. Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho is their priority option to replace the Georgian international. But, they are also looking at an alternative in Adeyemi.
Chelsea have submitted an offer for Adeyemi
While Napoli are looking to strike a deal with the player first, they are not the only club keen on his signature. Chelsea have been linked with the Dortmund winger as they seek more firepower in attack. They have reignited their interest in him and have already made a move.
While they have also been working on a deal to sign Garnacho, the English club seem quite serious about their pursuit of Adeyemi. They consider him a great option for their project that revolves around the best young stars and have already tabled an offer to bring him to Stamford Bridge. Adeyemi is not rushing into a decision, with Napoli and Chelsea both keen, the 23-year-old is taking his time.
