Tottenham pushing for forward move in winter window, Brian Brobbey enquiry made

Tottenham have made signing a new forward a priority before the end of the window, with Brian Brobbey emerging as a target.

According to Football Insider, Tottenham are prioritising a forward signing before the current window shuts. Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou has had a new attacker as part of his transfer targets and have made an enquiry for West Ham United target Brian Brobbey.

Tottenham have largely operated this term with many injuries to their key players throughout different phases of the season. Their defence has been massively hit with fitness issues as Ange Postecoglou has struggled to get results on board without at least three of his starting back four.

He has had some problems in the attack, as summer signing Dominic Solanke has operated alone for a long time as Postecoglou had been without Richarlison for most of the season. As the Brazilian made his comeback, the England international has suffered an injury that will keep him out for six weeks.

Meanwhile, they missed out on Randal Kolo Muani, as per reports, with the French attacker choosing Juventus as his next destination. Spurs are open to bringing a new forward, with links to Santiago Gimenez in recent days. They are also open to the idea of signing an attacker on loan, as Fabrizio Romano reported of an enquiry for Ajax star Brian Brobbey on loan, which could come in with a buy obligation.

Tottenham are also looking at the long-term future, and there are going to be some changes like Timo Werner departing at the end of the season. In their pursuit of Brobbey, they will face the challenge of some rivals, including West Ham, who are keen to sign the Ajax star.

Tottenham face West Ham competition for Brian Brobbey

Brobbey has not had the best of seasons, with three goals to show in 29 appearances in all competitions. The Hammers are desperate to sign a new striker following the long term absences of Niclas Fullkrug and Michail Antonio, as they are also linked with Andre Silva

They have already failed with two bids for top target Jhon Duran, while there are considerable doubts about landing Brighton’s Evan Ferguson on loan this month. Hence, the idea of signing Brobbey this month on loan is a viable alternative for the Hammers, are they might go head-to-head with Spurs for the striker.
