Chelsea increasingly likely to sign Alejandro Garnacho, Manchester United keeping informed on Christopher Nkunku

Chelsea have made Alejandro Garnacho a priority target this month and are likely to sign the Argentine, while Manchester United is considering chasing Christopher Nkunku.

According to Team Talk, Alejandro Garnacho seems increasingly likely to make a move to Chelsea in the coming days. The Argentine has been linked with numerous clubs, and it appears the Blues are the current favourite to land him, while Manchester United is considering chasing their out-of-favour star Christopher Nkunku.

There’s a lot of activity expected in the January transfer window, as Chelsea could be at the forefront of a big move. The Blues had earmarked the Argentine forward as a potential target this month when it became clear that Manchester United would consider an offer for the winger.

Napoli had been interested as Antonio Conte wanted him to replace Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who has since joined PSG. Manchester United would have preferred to sell him abroad, but so far, they have rejected a bid from the Italians, who have not met the player’s £60 million asking price.

Chelsea have reportedly submitted an offer, possibly a verbal one to understand the possibilities of signing Garnacho. As it stands, the Blues view the 20-year-old whizkid as a top target, as Enzo Maresca is open to adding a wide attacker following the dismal performances of his existing stars as well as the doping-related issue with Mykhailo Mudryk.

The Blues are likely to land Garnacho in the coming days, as they could meet with Manchester United to figure out an agreement. The winger also seemingly favours a move to Chelsea, as per the report, which would benefit the Blues in the pursuit.

Manchester United considering Christopher Nkunku’s move

As per ESPN, Manchester United are now looking at Chelsea outcast Christopher Nkunku before the transfer window shuts. The Frenchman has been looking to leave the club following a lesser role in Maresca’s first-team plans, where he has featured more in the Europa League than in the Premier League. Bayern Munich were interested, but they were not prepared to pay Chelsea’s asking price

The idea of joining Manchester United would entice the French attacker as he could come in to replace Garnacho, albeit playing in a different role. The Red Devils might have to figure out an agreement over a fee with Chelsea, although there’s enough evidence to suggest the pursuit is concrete enough.
