AC Milan could end up winning the race for the services of Tottenham and West Ham United attacking target Santiago Gimenez.
According to a report from TBR, Tottenham and West Ham both established contact with Santiago Gimenez’s agents regarding a move to London. While both English giants have knocked on his door, the Mexican international looks all set to join AC Milan who are optimistic about securing his services.
Gimenez joined Feyenoord in the summer of 2022 after coming up the ranks and making a name for himself while playing for CD Cruz Azul. The 23-year-old striker has taken his game to the next level since joining the Dutch club.
He has established himself as a key figure in the team and is currently enjoying an exceptional season with 15 goals and three assists in his 18 outings. His consistent performances in the final third have put him on the radar of multiple top clubs.
Tottenham and West Ham keen on signing Gimenez
Gimenez has been on the wishlist of Premier League clubs for some time now. Nottingham Forest were on the verge of signing him last season but that move didn’t go through. Now, Tottenham and West Ham are working hard to bring him to England.
Both clubs are in desperate need to sign a new striker as they look to bounce back in the second half of the season. West Ham were looking to add Jhon Duran to their squad but their efforts haven’t yielded any results so far.
Meanwhile, Spurs were looking to secure the services of Randal Kolo Muani who has ended up joining Juventus. As a result, both London clubs have now knocked on the doors of Gimenez. They have established contact with his agent as they look to explore a potential move in the ongoing window.
AC Milan to win the race for Gimenez
While they are pushing hard for his signature, both Premier League clubs are all set to miss out on the Mexican international who seems all set to join Italian giants AC Milan. He was on the verge of joining them last summer but the move fell through.
Having failed to sign Manchester United ace Marcus Rashford, Milan have once shifted their attention towards Gimenez and they are confident about striking a deal for him. The final fee of the transfer is expected to be around €40 million (£34 million).
