Crystal Palace are closing in on the signature of Cerro Porteno attacking sensation Gabriel Aguayo.
According to a report from Popular, Gabriel Aguayo is all set to make the move to the Premier League as Crystal Palace are close to striking a deal with Cerro Porteno. The teenage attacking sensation has attracted a lot of interest because of his exceptional rise and the Eagles seem all set to win the race for his signature.
Aguayo has come up the ranks at the Paraguayan club. He got promoted to their first team at the start of 2024 and hasn’t looked back since. In his 33 outings for the senior side, the 19-year-old winger has racked up six-goal contributions.
He has made quite a name for himself with his pace and his ability to take on defenders. While he prefers playing on the right flank, the teenager can even start on the left as well as down the middle when needed.
His impressive performances and massive potential have attracted a lot of attention. The Paraguayan youth international is on the wishlist of quite a few top clubs from across Europe. But, it seems he will be heading to the Premier League.
Crystal Palace to sign Aguayo in the near future
Crystal Palace are looking to add more firepower to their squad after a mixed start to the season. They have identified Aguayo as an exceptional talent who can do wonders in the long run. The Eagles already have a great track record of developing young players and they are now looking to invest in the 19-year-old.
With Eberechi Eze’s long-term future uncertain, it is quite understandable why they are looking to add Aguayo to their team. They have been in negotiations with the Paraguayan club for a while now and are reportedly one step away from securing his services.
He is expected to make the move to England before the end of the transfer window. While both clubs are in advanced talks, the move will most likely be finalised after the South American Under 20 Championship. Aguayo might not be ready to play a massive role but he can certainly be a great investment for the long run.
