Chelsea set to sign Mamadou Sarr for €20 million

Chelsea are all set to secure the services of French defensive sensation Mamadou Sarr for €20 million from sister club RC Strasbourg.

According to Fabrice Hawkins, Chelsea are within touching distance of securing the services of Mamadou Sarr. The Blues have already agreed personal terms with the young centre-back and they are currently in negotiations with RC Strasbourg as they look to finalise a €20 million transfer.

Sarr came up the ranks at Olympique Lyon and he made a name for himself while playing for Molenbeek. On the back of his performances in the Belgian second division, Strasbourg signed him in the last summer transfer window.

While he has had some injury troubles, the 19-year-old has featured in 13 first-team games for the French club and he has put in some incredible performances. His abilities on and off the ball along with his massive potential have attracted a lot of interest of late.

Quite a few clubs seem interested in the French youth international but it seems sister club Chelsea are already working hard to secure his services. The Blues are constantly on the lookout for young players with huge potential and Sarr certainly fits their new transfer policy.

Chelsea looking to strike a deal for Sarr

He has the potential to be a special player for the London club and they are all set to complete his signing. Chelsea have already held talks with the teenager and he has given the green light to the move.

The Blues are willing to offer him a long-term contract and with an agreement already in place with the player, they are currently in negotiations with Strasbourg.

Since both clubs are owned by BlueCo, negotiations are not expected to be that difficult. The final fee of the transfer is expected to be around €20 million and the player will remain in France on loan to continue his development as a player.

With this transfer, the London club will secure the services of an extremely talented young centre-back. Sarr will be excited by the opportunity to join one of the best teams in England. Meanwhile, staying at Strasbourg ensures he gets regular first-team minutes necessary to help him reach his true potential.
