Italian giants AC Milan are looking to make a move for the services of Chelsea out-of-favour duo Christopher Nkunku and Ben Chilwell.
AC Milan are plotting a raid on Chelsea as they look to reinforce their squad in the ongoing transfer window. According to a report from TEAMtalk, the Italian giants are interested in signing Christopher Nkunku and Ben Chilwell who are both not an important part of Enzo Maresca’s plans at the London club.
Milan are already in talks with Chelsea as they look to discuss a potential move for Joao Felix. While those talks are ongoing, the Blues have used their contacts to acquire more information about the likes of Nkunku and Chilwell.
They are looking to learn about what needs to be done to sign the duo in the ongoing window. Sergio Conceicao who recently took charge of Milan is looking to freshen things up and the Chelsea duo can certainly help their cause in the second half of the season.
Nkunku and Chilwell to leave Stamford Bridge
The Blues forked out a massive fee to sign Nkunku. Unfortunately, he had a horror debut campaign as he was out injured for the majority of last season. While he is back fit and has been putting in some impressive performances in his limited opportunities, he is not happy with the fact that he has less than 1,200 minutes under his belt despite contributing towards 17 goals.
The 27-year-old is not one of the priorities under Maresca and he is reportedly keen on making a move away in search of a more prominent role. Meanwhile, Chilwell has hardly played any part in the ongoing season as he is completely out of the Italian manager’s project at Stamford Bridge. The London club are ready to sanction his departure.
Milan plot a move for Chelsea duo
Milan are looking at the English full-back as an ideal option to bolster the left flank amidst uncertainty around the future of Theo Hernandez. Even if the Italian club manages to extend his stay at the club, they will still be looking to bring Chilwell to San Siro to bolster their backline as a whole.
With Luka Jovic likely to be on the move amidst interest from AS Monaco, Nkunku could be just the perfect replacement for him in the final third. The French forward could be an exceptional signing for Conceicao’s team as he can feature anywhere in attack.
Any move for either of them will most likely be a loan move with an option to buy. The Nkunku transfer could be a straightforward loan move as the Blues want £65 million (€76.8 million) to part ways with him. Milan could face competition from Bayern Munich who already have the green light from the player but are yet to strike a deal with the London club.
