AC Milan manager Sergio Conceicao is reportedly eager to block the exit of Fikayo Tomori this month amid his links with Newcastle United and West Ham United.
According to a report by Caught Offside, Newcastle United and West Ham United are keen on signing Fikayo Tomori from AC Milan in the winter transfer window. However, the Serie A club’s manager Sergio Conceicao is eager to block the English international defender’s departure from San Siro this month.
Fikayo Tomori has endured a topsy-turvy ride since joining AC Milan from Chelsea. The Serie A giants initially signed the Englishman on a loan deal in January 2021 before completing a permanent move in the subsequent winter transfer window.
The 27-year-old was an instant hit at AC Milan in his first few seasons with the Serie A club but has been in and out of the starting lineup in the last 12 months. Tomori has turned out over 150 times thus far for the Rossoneri while chipping in with seven goals and one assist.
Meanwhile, Tomori’s stock in the market is high, with several well-known clubs across Europe keen on securing his services. Premier League outfits, in particular, are keen on signing the English international, with Newcastle United and West Ham United among his prospective suitors.
Newcastle United mulled over signing Fikayo Tomori in the summer transfer window before the deal failed to see the light of day. The continued interest is understandable, considering Eddie Howe was keen on signing two centre-backs last summer but landed only one. So, the former Chelsea defender is a viable target for Newcastle United.
