Manchester City closing in on Andrea Cambiaso

Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City are closing in on the signature of Juventus full-back Andrea Cambiaso.

After a poor first half of the season, Manchester City have been the most active team in the ongoing transfer window. They are looking to reshape Pep Guardiola’s team and give him everything he needs to bounce back.

They have been working on quite a few transfers and a few of those could be finalised in the near future. According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the Premier League giants are closing in on the services of Andrea Cambiaso.

They are looking to submit an offer worth €60-65 million for the Juventus full-back and it should be enough to get a deal over the line.

After making a name for himself at Genoa, Cambiaso made the move to the Old Lady in the summer of 2022. He spent the first season out on loan before getting a chance to impress during the 2023/24 season.

He surely had an impressive debut campaign with nine-goal contributions and has carried on in a similar fashion this season. His consistent performances along with his ability to feature in any role on either flank have caught the attention of Manchester City.

City are pushing for Cambiaso

Guardiola’s team are constantly on the lookout for players who can help take their team to the next level. Cambiaso seems to be an ideal fit for the Spanish manager’s system as he can feature on either flank.

With Kyle Walker seeking a move away from the Manchester-based club, they need to bring in a new full-back. The City skipper will most likely part ways with the club in the ongoing transfer window. While Cambiaso prefers playing on the left-hand side, his versatility makes him an ideal replacement for the English international.

Reports earlier suggested that Guardiola’s team won’t find it easy to prise him away from Juventus. But, it seems they are actually closing in on his signature and are ready to put forward a massive offer that will surely tempt the Old Lady.

City are looking to table an offer worth €60-65 million and it will be interesting to see how the negotiations pan out from here on. With around two weeks left in the window, this is surely one to keep an eye on.
