Juventus make approach for Axel Disasi

Thiago Motta’s Juventus have knocked on the doors of Chelsea as they look to sign their French centre-back Axel Disasi.

Juventus are looking to reinforce their defence in the ongoing transfer window and according to a report from TBR Football, they have enquired about the availability of Chelsea centre-back Axel Disasi who is surplus to requirements at the London club.

The Blues forked out £38 million to sign him from AS Monaco back in the summer of 2023. While the 26-year-old had an impressive debut campaign, he has gone down the pecking order since the arrival of Enzo Maresca.

The French international has only featured in 16 games in the first half of the campaign. He has only started four Premier League games for them and with the Blues’ recalling Trevoh Chalobah who was on loan at Crystal Palace, Disasi’s game time is unlikely to improve.

While his contract at Stamford Bridge runs until the summer of 2029, the Blues seem to be ready to sanction his departure in the ongoing transfer window. They are looking to bolster their defence having conceded seven goals in their five-game winless run in the league. The Blues want to sign Marc Guehi to solve their defensive issues and raising funds by selling Disasi could help their pursuit.

Juventus pushing for Disasi’s signature

Juventus have emerged as a potential destination for the Chelsea centre-back. The Old Lady might be the only unbeaten team in the Serie A but they are fifth having played out 13 draws in their 20 outings.

They are looking at the winter window as an opportunity to reinforce their squad and provide Thiago Motta with the players he needs to have a strong second half of the season.

The Turin-based outfit seek more firepower in the final third but with Gleison Bremer out injured, reinforcing the backline is also one of their priorities. Having failed to convince Ronald Araujo to part ways with Barcelona, Juventus have shifted their focus on Disasi.

They have already enquired about his availability and since he is not an important part of Maresca’s plans there is a real possibility of acquiring his services. Meanwhile, Atalanta have also contacted Chelsea and could cause problems for Juventus.

Chelsea are ready to sell but they want to recoup all of what they had invested to bring him to Stamford Bridge. But, they are also open to a loan departure which could help the Old Lady.
