Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea have submitted an offer worth €10 million to sign Spanish second-division star Yeremay Hernandez.
According to a report from Marca, Chelsea are keen on acquiring the services of Yeremay Hernandez and they have already submitted an offer worth €10 million along with add-ons. The Blues have also offered a player in exchange.
Hernandez was a part of the Las Palmas youth setup back in the day. He then made the move to Real Madrid but things didn’t work out for him at Valdebebas. Eventually, he joined Deportivo La Coruña in the summer of 2017 and hasn’t looked back since.
The 22-year-old winger went up the ranks at some pace and has been a part of their first team setup since the summer of 2022. He has been one of the standout performers for the second-division outfit this season.
Hernandez has been involved in a total of 18 matches and he has managed to contribute towards 11 goals (8 goals, 3 assists). The Spanish youth international impressive performances haven’t gone unnoticed.
Chelsea make move to sign Hernandez
Chelsea are one of the European giants that have taken note of his exceptional performances. The Blues are constantly on the lookout for young players with immense potential and Hernandez seems to fit the bill.
While he prefers playing on the left flank, the 22-year-old can feature anywhere in attack and his recent performances suggest, he is ready to take the next step in his career. After monitoring him for a while, the Blues have finally made a move to bring him to Stamford Bridge.
They have submitted an offer worth €10 million with bonuses depending on team and individual performances along with the option to sign one of their players among the several options proposed by them. Deportivo are not convinced by the offer and they will only let him leave if an interested club triggers his release clause worth €20 million.
Hernandez last signed a contract extension in the summer of 2024 and the new deal runs until 2030 which means Deportivo are in full control of the situation. While Villarreal and Real Sociedad have been monitoring him for two years, the release clause is a problem for both clubs.
