Chelsea will demand an eight-figure asking price of €30 million to part ways with 21-year-old Portuguese utility man Renato Veiga amid his links with Borussia Dortmund.
According to an update by reputed Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Renato Veiga is the subject of interest from Borussia Dortmund. The Bundesliga giants are eager to sign a centre-back in the winter transfer window and have set their sights on the Chelsea utility man. Meanwhile, the Blues will demand around €30 million to part ways with the Portuguese defender this month.
Renato Veiga has had to bide his time since joining Chelsea from FC Basel in the summer transfer window. The deal surprised many, considering the Blues were well-stocked in the defensive and midfield departments. Nevertheless, the youngster has made his mark whenever he has taken to the field in the last six months.
The 21-year-old has been a utility man for Chelsea due to his ability to play as a centre-back, a left-back, and a holding midfielder. Veiga has amassed over 1,000 minutes of game time across 18 appearances for the West London club in all competitions, chipping in with two goals and one assist.
However, Veiga wants to embark on a new adventure in the winter transfer window, only six months after arriving at Stamford Bridge. The Portuguese defender does not have a shortage of clubs pursuing him, with Chelsea anticipating approaches. Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund are among his prospective suitors this month.
Borussia Dortmund’s interest in Renato Veiga is understandable.
