Arsenal are part of the chasing pack for Lee Kang-in this month, although PSG are unwilling to part company with the South Korean.
According to TBR Football, Arsenal are interested in South Korean playmaker Lee Kang-in, with Manchester City and Newcastle United also part of the hunt. PSG are not considering parting ways with the 23-year-old, as they view him as a key part of their future.
The transfer market has been evolving in the last few days as more clubs are opening their chequebooks to sign players. Despite suggestions that this will be another cagey January market, the signs are indicative that there might be plenty of movement around.
PSG are becoming the big story of this window, as they are reportedly closing in on signing Napoli star Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in a huge move. The Georgian’s arrival would trigger a series of changes at the Paris club, with the likes of Bradley Barcola and even Lee Kang-in likely to become dispensable.
Lee Kang-in already has interest from Manchester City and Newcastle United, with the two teams looking to add him as part of their current and future setup. The 23-year-old PSG playmaker has a level of versatility in him that would potentially allow any manager to use him in different positions.
Arsenal are also keen on signing the South Korean, with some sections of the media suggesting the Gunners have admired him and would like to explore a move. All three of those may find it difficult to convince PSG over a deal this month, as the Parisians are not willing to sanction a sale just yet.
PSG not interested in sale
PSG do not view Lee Kang-in as a player they would like to part ways with right now, as they view the South Korean as integral to their present and future. Arsenal, for instance are looking at other versatile players like Matheus Cunha for the future. But at the present, they need someone who can play further forward than the likes of Lee Kang-in.
As for the playmaker, he has been developing nicely under Luis Enrique, and there is no instance of the 23-year-old PSG playmaker complaining about game time. For the time being, PSG do not view him as a dispensable asset and will continue their partnership, as these clubs could come back in the summer to test the waters again.
