Aston Villa are in the race for Omar Marmoush alongside some of their esteemed Premier League rivals as the Eintracht Frankfurt star has come in for demand.
According to The Sun, Aston Villa are ready to compete with some of their esteemed Premier League rivals for the signature of Omar Marmoush. There’s plenty of competition for the Eintracht Frankfurt man, who is having the season of his life.
Omar Marmoush could still make a shock move away from Eintracht Frankfurt, as the German side could forcibly cash in their star man this month. The Egyptian has had a hand in 30 goals and assists combined this season in all competitions, which has garnered big attention from Premier League sides.
Had Frankfurt stayed in the fight for the Bundesliga title, it would have been difficult to envisage an exit for the attacker. However, Frankfurt is not in the race anymore and could potentially cash in if they are to receive a large enough offer for the Egyptian.
Given the number of clubs chasing him, it’s not impossible for one of those to pay big for the striker. Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool are all in the mix, with all three of that English side on the lookout for a new frontman, and Marmoush fits their profile requirement in a big way.
Manchester City have stepped up their interest, and as per the report they appear to be the favourites to land him this month or next summer. While nothing’s been agreed with Frankfurt or the striker, a potential race could be brewing in the background as the Egyptian’s 30 goals and assists this season have had a mighty impression.
Aston Villa have entered the Omar Marmoush race
Aston Villa are the latest team to show an interest in Marmoush and have entered the race for the Frankfurt striker. Unai Emery probably has one of the best striker choices in the league, with the likes of Ollie Watkins and Jhon Duran fighting for one spot, although there are reports they could sell the latter.
In such a scenario, they might look to reinvest the money into someone like Marmoush to keep the levels of their squad high. However, in the current scenario, Villa may have a big fight on their hands to convince Marmoush to choose them over some of the more illustrious sides in the Premier League, especially Manchester City.
