Manchester City step up interest in Omar Marmoush, submit offer

Manchester City have stepped up their pursuit of Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham attacking target Omar Marmoush.

Omar Marmoush’s incredible performances for Eintracht Frankfurt haven’t gone unnoticed. Multiple top clubs have taken note of his performances and they are keen on prising him away from Germany.

According to a report from CaughtOffside, Manchester City are interested in the Egyptian international’s services and they have decided to step up their interest in him.

City are going through one of the most difficult phases in recent history. Pep Guardiola’s team are currently 6th on the points table and things haven’t really gone according to plan for them.

City to go after Marmoush’s signature

The Manchester-based giants are looking to bring in reinforcements to revive themselves and once again challenge for all major titles. While they will be making a few additions to their squad in the ongoing window, City have already started planning for the summer and they have their eyes set on Omar Marmoush.

Since the departure of Julian Alvarez, City have struggled in the final third. They have become overreliant on Erling Haaland. The Egyptian international can feature on either flank as well as a number nine could be just the perfect fit for them.

They have decided to step up their interest in the Frankfurt star’s services and have reportedly taken important steps towards signing him next summer. With 18 goals and 12 assists in just 24 outings this season, Marmoush finds himself on the wishlist of quite a few English clubs.

Multiple English clubs want Marmoush

Apart from City, Liverpool are also among the favourites to sign Marmoush. The Reds have been monitoring him since the start of the season and could cause problems for Guardiola’s team. Tottenham and Arsenal are also keen on his signature.

Despite signing Dominic Solanke in the summer, Spurs seek more firepower while the Gunners want a new number nine as Gabriel Jesus is no longer a part of their plans. While English clubs are keen on his signature. Frankfurt have the upper hand as his contract runs until the summer of 2027 and they are asking for a fee of around €65-€70 million.

City have taken the first step

The report suggests that a deal could be struck for a lower fee as the player is keen on playing in the English top flight. While multiple top clubs are ready to battle for his signature, a report from Foot Mercato suggests City have taken the lead in their pursuit of the 25-year-old.

They have not only stepped up their interest but City have already tabled an offer to sign the Egyptian international next summer. Marmoush has already held talks with the Premier League giants and he seems to be very excited about being a part of their project.
