La Liga outfit Real Betis are in advanced talks with Liverpool to sign their midfield sensation Stefan Bajcetic on loan.
Real Betis are looking to add more quality as well as depth to their midfield in the ongoing transfer window and according to Fabrizio Romano, the Spanish outfit are interested in acquiring the services of Stefan Bajcetic.
The 20-year-old defensive midfielder was a part of the Celta Vigo youth ranks back in the day. But, he ended up joining Liverpool at the start of 2021. He went up the ranks at some pace and 18 months later, Bajcetic got promoted to their first team.
Despite his huge potential, the Spanish youth international has only featured in 22 matches for the Reds so far. Arne Slot was not really sure about handing him regular first-team action, as a result, Liverpool ended up sending him out on loan to Red Bull Salzburg in the summer.
While the 20-year-old has been involved in 18 matches so far, he has only racked up 890 minutes of first-team action. The Merseyside club are not entirely happy about his game time and they have decided to terminate his season-long loan at Salzburg.
Bajcetic to switch clubs mid-season
Bajcetic is expected to return to his parent club in the near future. But, he is still no a part of Slot’s plan for the second half of the season. As a result, the Reds are on the lookout for a potential destination for the young midfield sensation and they have found one in Real Betis.
The Spanish outfit have had a mixed first half and they are looking to add more quality to their squad as they look to bounce back. Bajcetic could be a great addition to their team as he can feature as a six as well as a number eight.
They are already in advanced talks to sign him on loan from Liverpool. While it is not yet a done deal, things are progressing at a decent rate. The Reds will terminate his loan deal at Salzburg and with Betis working hard to secure Bajcetic’s services, there is a high possibility of this transfer going through.
