PSG are eager to test Chelsea’s resolve over Cole Palmer and make a massive bid to lure the England international to Paris.
According to Fichajes, Paris Saint-Germain is eager to explore a move for Cole Palmer with serious intentions. The Parisians are keen on bringing a superstar name to the club to bolster their profile, and they could test Chelsea with a huge offer for the fan favourite.
Cole Palmer’s meteoric rise continued from last season, as he is having yet another terrific campaign for Chelsea. Last time out, the England international registered 40 goal contributions in all competitions and is already around the halfway mark this term.
Chelsea views Palmer as a top star for the present and future, as they have already secured him a longer-term contract until 2033. Hence, for any club to make a move for Palmer, they will have to pay a record sum, even to make Chelsea think about a sale.
During some recent links to Real Madrid, a report stated Chelsea would demand as much as €200 million or more for Palmer. There were further rumours about Manchester City exploring re-signing the 22-year-old fan favourite, although any return to the Etihad was ruled out a while ago.
PSG are the latest side to enter the conversation for Palmer, as the Parisians are reportedly willing to fork out the €200 million needed to sign him. The 22-year-old is not thinking about a switch just yet, but there are suggestions he could be dreaming of a future move to Real Madrid.
PSG keen to add a superstar name to their squad
Since losing Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid in the summer, PSG has lost some flair and are struggling for relevance in the Champions League. Hence, the idea of signing Palmer would resonate well, as the Parisians have the financial capacity to make a bid to test Chelsea’s resolve.
Chelsea are not expected to offload Palmer, as he’s their most important player at the current moment. However, an offer such as the €200 million one mentioned in the report could well test the Blues and their resilience over the 22-year-old fan favourite, meaning things could happen in the future if PSG are able to table such a big offer.
