Three Saudi Pro League clubs are interested in acquiring the services of Manchester City full-back Kyle Walker.
According to a report from CaughtOffside, Kyle Walker is attracting a significant amount of interest from the Saudi Pro League. The Manchester City full-back has started to show some signs of decline and the English outfit could now be open to his departure.
Walker joined Pep Guardiola’s team in the summer of 2017 after making a name for himself at Tottenham. He has only gone from strength to strength since moving to City and has established himself as one of the best full-backs in the Premier League.
He has been key to all the success they have had over the years but it seems his time at City could soon come to an end. The English international’s current deal at the Manchester-based club runs until the summer of 2026 but Guardiola could end up sanctioning his departure in the near future amidst interest in him from the Middle East.
Walker could head to Saudi Arabia
The 34-year-old still remains a key figure in the City team but of late he has shown signs of decline. Age is finally catching up to Walker and he could now be tempted to pick up a big payday in Saudi Arabia just like many other stars.
Three top clubs in the Middle East are keen on signing the English full-back. Al Nassr, Al Ahli and Al Ittihad are believed to be the three clubs who hold an interest in the veteran defender. All three clubs are home to some top European stars and they want to further strengthen their team by adding Walker to their squad.
His experience and leadership skills could come in handy for all three clubs and they could soon try bidding for the 34-year-old. The report suggests they could submit offers in the region of €12-15 million but it will be interesting to see if that will be good enough to convince City to sell their star.
While age is not on his side and his performances have been on the decline, he is still a key figure in the dressing room and replacing him won’t be an easy task.
