Nicolas Kuhn is emerging on the list of some top Premier League sides ahead of the January transfer window, as Celtic face a fight to keep hold of the striker.
According to a report by Graeme Bailey on TBR Football, Celtic face a big fight to keep hold of Nicolas Kuhn ahead of the winter transfer window. A host of Premier League sides, including Aston Villa, Newcastle United and Tottenham, are keen on the German attacker, as he could prove a value-added purchase in the winter market.
Nicolas Kuhn has been making waves over in Scotland with his performances this season for Celtic. The attacker has contributed to 25 in 25 games for the SPL leaders, with his contributing helping the Bhoys open up a 14-point gap at the top of the league as he continues to attract the attention of a few Premier League sides.
Celtic are aware of the interest coming from England and will demand a hefty fee to sell him, although they would ideally prefer to keep him. Moreover, Kuhn has attracted the attention of Julian Nagelsmann and may push for a move if sizeable offers arrive to boost his chances of playing for Germany regularly.
Aston Villa are one of those keen to sign Kuhn, as there are emerging doubts about Jhon Duran’s immediate future. There are links to players like Mateo Retegui ahead of January, although the idea of selling Duran will likely be put on hold. If they do offload the Colombian, then someone like Nicolas Kuhn could be seen as a valued added replacement.
There are links to Newcastle United, with the Magpies also looking for a new striker in January. The club’s primary objective will revolve around keeping hold of their top stars like Alexander Isak and Bruno Guimaraes. Still, there are fringe players, such as Callum Wilson, looking likely to make an exit in January.
Tottenham linked with Nicolas Kuhn
Tottenham are the other team looking for a new attacking option, as Ange Postecoglou wants to reduce the burden on Dominic Solanke. A second striker could be useful, as there are links to Randal Kolo Muani, among other names, ahead of January.
Either of those three teams could represent a significant step up for the German forward. Moreover, Nicolas Kuhn could push for a move should he consider the idea of playing for Germany with regularity. Any transfer in in the winter window will depend heavily on what Celtic think and demand from suitors.
