January Liverpool move for Antonee Robinson highly realistic

Liverpool have a realistic chance of signing Fulham defensive star Antonee Robinson in the upcoming transfer window.

Liverpool are looking to reinforce their backline and they are interested in signing Fulham’s Antonee Robinson. According to a report from Football Insider, the Reds could end up signing him in January but they will have to match the Cottagers’ demands to get a deal over the line.

Robinson started with the Everton youth setup but left the Merseyside club even before he could break into their first team. He made a name for himself at Wigan before joining Fulham in the summer of 2020.

The American international has gone from strength to strength over the years. He has established himself as a key figure at the London club and his recent performances have put him on the radar of some of the giants in English football.

The Cottagers have been quite impressive in the first half of the season. They are currently eighth on the points table and Robinson has played a big part in it with six assists in his 18 league outings.

Liverpool could sign Robinson in January

Liverpool are one of the clubs who are quite impressed with his performances and they have been closely monitoring him ahead of a potential move in the upcoming transfer window.

The Reds are on the lookout for a new left-back as Andrew Robertson is no longer at his best. He is already 30 and on the decline. As a result, Arne Slot seeks more quality on the left flank and he feels Robinson can help on both ends of the pitch.

With the Merseyside club pushing for both the Premier League as well as the Champions League title, they seem keen on signing the 27-year-old in January. The report suggests that the Reds can complete a big winter deal to bring the American full-back to Anfield.

Fulham won’t really want to lose out on one of their star players mid-season and with his contract running until the summer of 2028, they will demand a massive fee. The Reds will most likely have to fork out around £40-50 million for his signature. Despite the high asking price and the Cottagers’ reluctance, there is a realistic chance of Liverpool striking a deal for his services.
