Fulham and West Ham target James McAtee wants Manchester City exit

Fulham and West Ham United have received a major boost in their pursuit of Manchester City attacking sensation James McAtee.

Multiple top clubs from across Europe are interested in acquiring the services of James McAtee. The English youth international could be on the move in the upcoming transfer window.

According to a report from TBR, McAtee wants to part ways with Pep Guardiola’s team as he seeks regular first-team action. Fulham and West Ham United are both keen on his signature and their pursuit has been boosted by his desire to leave.

McAtee has been at City since his childhood day. He went up the ranks at some pace and made his debut back in 2021. He has had two impressive loan spells at Sheffield United but even that hasn’t helped his cause.

The 22-year-old attacking midfielder was expected to be heavily involved in the first-team this season on the back of an impressive pre-season. But, things haven’t gone according to plan as he has featured in just seven games.

McAtee is frustrated by the lack of minutes having racked up just over 300 minutes of first-team football. While his contract at City runs until the summer of 2026, he is ready to leave the club in search of regular game time.

The English midfielder has already informed City that he is already to leave the club. While the Manchester-based outfit don’t really want to lose out on him, Guardiola has never really stood in the way of a player who wants to leave.

Fulham and West Ham keen on McAtee

While there is no shortage of interest in him, McAtee can choose to continue in England with Fulham and Wes Ham keen on his signature. With Andreas Pereira’s future uncertain, the 22-year-old could be a great acquisition for the Cottagers who are pushing for a European spot this time around.

Meanwhile, the Hammers are looking for more quality in the final third of the pith as they look to revive themselves in the second half and push for a place in the top half of the table. Julen Lopetegui wants more creativity and McAtee can surely help their cause.

While City will try their best to keep hold of the young sensation, they could let him leave for the right price with Oscar Bobb closing in on a return from injury.
