Arsenal, Manchester City, Manchester United on alert as Dani Olmo agent arrives for talks

Arsenal, Manchester City, and Manchester United are keeping a close eye on Dani Olmo’s situation at Barcelona.

Dani Olmo could part ways with Barcelona just six months after joining them. The Catalan giants are finding it difficult to register him for the second half of the season, and he could end up leaving them in January on a free transfer.

According to a report from the Daily Mail, Arsenal, Manchester City, and Manchester United are all on red alert because of Olmo’s situation at the Spanish club. All three clubs would love to have him in their ranks, and they are preparing to pounce on any sort of an opportunity.

Olmo’s agent Andy Bara has recently travelled to Manchester which could be a sign of things to come. Olmo was a part of the Barcelona youth setup back in the day. Things did not work out for him at La Masia, and he ended up leaving them in 2014.

On the back of his exceptional performances for RB Leipzig, and his role in Spain’s triumph at UEFA Euro 2024, the Catalan club forked out £50 million to bring him back to his boyhood club after a decade.

Barcelona’s struggle to register Olmo

While the Spanish giants managed to complete his signing, registering him became a massive task because of their financial crisis. In the end, they managed to register him on a temporary basis but only until the end of 2024.

With Spain’s football federation blocking his registration, Olmo could walk away as a free agent on January 1. Barcelona have been forced to bring in additional revenue, which is a massive task mid-way through the season.

The Catalan giants have instigated legal proceedings against La Liga and were hopeful of reaching a solution before next week. But, with time running out things do not really look that bright for them. Olmo’s priority is to stay at his boyhood club, but his agent has already started looking at potential moves.

Olmo could be heading to the Premier League

He has travelled to Manchester and could hold talks with interested clubs. Both Manchester United and Manchester City are keen on his signature as they look for more quality in the final third. Meanwhile, Arsenal are also interested in his services as he can strengthen the flanks and be an ideal cover for their skipper Martin Odegaard as well as their star boy Bukayo Saka.

At Manchester United, he could be an ideal replacement for Marcus Rashford who could be on his way out in January. As far as Manchester City are concerned, with Kevin De Bruyne in the twilight of his career, the young Spanish international could surely help their cause.
