AC Milan are leading the race to sign Chelsea midfielder Cesare Casadei, with the Serie A giants ready to battle Monza for his signature.
AC Milan are looking to reinforce their midfield in the upcoming transfer window and according to a report from Fichajes, they are plotting a raid on Chelsea to bring Cesare Casadei back to Italy.
Casadei was a part of the Inter Milan youth setup back in the day. He made quite a name for himself coming up the ranks at the club and got promoted to their first team in the summer of 2022. A month later, Chelsea struck a deal to sign the Italian midfield sensation.
While he has had a few impressive loan spells away from the London club and has done well at the youth level for both club and country, the move to Stamford Bridge hasn’t really worked out for him. He hasn’t been able to establish himself as a key figure in the senior team.
He hasn’t been involved in a single Premier League game this season He has featured in five matches and the majority of his minutes have come in the Conference League. His performances in Europe have resulted in a significant amount of interest in his services.
AC Milan front-runners for Casadei
Multiple clubs from across Europe are considering signing him on a temporary basis. Meanwhile, Chelsea are open to a loan move as they feel regular first-team action will be very important for his development as a player. AC Milan have emerged as the leading candidate to secure his services.
The Italian giants want to add more quality to their midfield. They want to bring in a young and dynamic player who can have an impact on both ends of the pitch. Casadei’s profile is exactly what they are looking for and at this stage, Milan are considered to be front runners for his signature.
AC Milan to battle Monza
But, they will have to battle it out with another Italian club for his signature. According to Gazzetta dello Sport via SportWitness, Monza have established contact with Chelsea as they look to secure the services of Casadei.
Adriano Galliani’s club are ready to ensure that he will get regular first-team action. They are pushing to strike a deal before the end of the year as they want him available for the Cagliari fixture on the 5th of January. With Monza pushing hard, Milan won’t find it that easy to lure him away.
